The real season for the NFL starts this weekend, and all teams are now 0-0. The Superbowl winner may be playing this week. I can consider myself a prophet when it comes to picking games, so if you want gamble and want to come up keep reading.
Cincinnati Bengals (9-7) vs Houston Texans( 10-6) 4:30 ET NBC
Andy Dalton has played well for rookie, but not against teams with a winning or .500 record. Even though Houston could be starting Jake Delhomme, which is always worst case scenario at QB after Schuab, Leinart, and now Yates are all injured I still like the Texans. Arian Foster and Ben Tate will break some big runs just and they wont let Jake throw a pass that's not a screen. Bengals have not won tight game against a good team all year, not going start now.
Prediction: Houston 24 -Cincinnati 17
Detroit Lions (10-6) vs New Orleans Saints (13-3) 8:00 ET NBC
This game should be a blow out! The Saints are undefeated at home and average over 40 points per game with ridiculous point deferential. They have the best offense in NFL history (based on yardage statistics) and Brees should have no problem going off on the same secondary that Matt Flynn threw 6 TDs on. Stafford and Johnson will make some big plays but not enough to keep up. This game might be decided by halftime.
Prediction: New Orleans 42- Detroit 28
Atlanta Falcons (10-6) vs New York Giants (9-7) 1:00 PM ET FOX
The Dirtbags, I mean Dirty Birds could pull off the upset with beating the Giants in MetLife stadium, If they ran the ball with Turner. But I don't see it, the Falcons main focus is making Ryan an elite QB, even though he is not. Matt Ryan is 0-2 in playoff games and the Falcons do not have one impressive win on their schedule, but neither do the Giants. Both of these teams are overrated, honestly it comes down to QB. I'll take Mannning over Ryan every time. Falcons will stopping running the ball early and try to let Ryan win the game for them. It wont happen!
Prediction: Giants 31- Falcons 24
Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5) vs Denver Broncos (8-8) 4:30 ET FOX
This is the easiest game to pick and the hardest to watch! Even with Big Ben hurt, Ike Taylor not playing, and James Harrison already called for two personal foul penalties before the game even starts its hard to see Tebow winning this game. I doubt the Steelers let Tebow go 6-25 for 85 yards knock them out of the playoffs. All the tebowing in the world cant help them win the game. If you get up a TD on the Broncos its over, we might even see Brady Quinn take a few snaps before the game is over.
Prediction: Steelers 24-13
